The weather is perfect for riding in Europe and our Spanish partners in Segovia.

The floods have receded in the Okavango Delta and you will enjoy reduced shoulder season pricing if arriving after the 15th of October. Southern Africa is headed towards summer which often brings afternoon showers which is why it’s called the ‘Green Season’. In October though they haven’t quite arrived and temperatures can be higher.

October is the final chance to ride the Masai Mara in Kenya until December and catch the trail end of the migration. Head to Offbeat or Safaris Unlimited for luxury mobile tented safaris.

October is a wonderful time to ride at Castle Leslie in Ireland.

Head to Namibia in October for cooler temperatures across the desert.

Spring is coming in South America, head to Los Potreros in Argentina for the start of their season.

An easy short-break for experienced riders in stunning Segovia in the heart of Spain. The walled city has a roman aqueduct, a medieval heart and renaissance castles. Even Disney was inspired and the Alcazar was a model for the famous Disney castle.

The riding is fast paced and sporty. You’ll canter and gallop in open fields - a joy for experienced and fit riders. The horses are well trained and forward. We love the combination of incredible views, history and fast riding.

With one of the highest rebook rates of any safari worldwide this should be on everyone’s bucketlist. The horses are athletic and a joy to ride, the going is fast and varied, the scenery changes moment to moment.

The central desert is warming up so Andrew brings guests and his horses to the Skeleton Coast, Namibia’s iconic orange coast line that has cooler weather. This itinerary has you galloping for miles on the beach, dodging seals and full cavalry charging through a meteorite crater!

Gallop across the Namib Desert on a fast horse, kicking up dust behind you, sleep under the stars, indulge in incredible food (often featuring local game) cooked up by the two chefs and immerse yourself in an old school adventure.

Offbeat closes for November so October is your last chance to get in until the December ride.

One of the original riding safaris and very highly regarded in the industry. We know you’ll have the time of your life with world-class guiding and more close calls with wildlife than you can crack a stock whip at. Offbeat is known for adventurous riding, there will be many fast and free gallops across the Mara, you’ll get very close to lions on horseback, and if you come across a tree pushed over by an itchy elephant, you’re free to pop your horse over it. From three nights | From US$595 per person per night | Max 12 Guests | Dreamy 6,500 acre angus beef ranch stay

October in Cordoba is lovely weather for a visit to the very highly regarded Begg family estancia Los Potreros “the Paddocks”. Argentina. ‘Los Pots’ is a 6,000 acre working Black Angus cattle farm that has been in the Begg family for four generations. The landscape feels like Dartmoor in the UK, misty, moody with vast grassy hills and rocky outcrops.

One of the major draw cards of a visit to Los Pots is the varied riding. You’ll ride out twice a day, once on the local criollos and once on the very flashy gaited paso horses. Riding a paso is a highlight for many of our riders.

You’ll be accommodated in beautiful converted farmhouses. Each room as its own bathroom and fireplace. There is no internet in the rooms but you can get online at the main house.
