WILDLIFE UNDER THE AFRICAN SKY

Every day will see a plethora of wildlife: impala trotting alongside us, wildebeest whirling away, giraffe lolloping off in any direction and zebras calmly cantering into the distance. Vistas are always enormous, the wide African sky impossibly huge, and the horizon distant and hovering in the midday heat. It's a feeling of utter freedom and a return to existing as a human in harmony with the environment.

Safari on the back of a horse is unlike any other kind of safari. With their steady, well loved and expertly schooled horses you will feel both secure and at one with the landscape. On their horseback safaris in Kenya, they require all their riders to be competent and confident at all paces; surprises in the bush cannot be predicted.

Let’s ride!

MEET YOUR GUIDES

Gordie was initiated into the safari world as a youngster. Born in Kenya and raised with the promise of adventure during every school holiday, he mastered the idiosyncratic skills of safari as a boy, helping the camp crew put up tents, pack trucks and saddle horses. He guided his first safari aged 18 and has over 30 years’ experience in the bush. Gordie’s formal education started at boarding school in Kenya where he was known for his mischievous ways, and continued in England ending at the Royal Agricultural College where he obtained a degree in Wildlife Management

Felicia’s talents encompass all aspects of safari – she’s a brilliant equestrian, an inventive chef, a qualified Bowen therapist and engaging company. Guests can’t help but be enchanted by Felicia’s romantic story – she spent her childhood cantering through the hunting-shooting verdant countryside of Leicestershire that surrounds her family’s farm where her parents bred and raced horses and her brothers both became professional polo players.
