Miniature stallion Basil shares his stable with equestrian enthusiasts in a picture perfect English village near Nottingham. He’s incredibly popular and booked out for the next 12 months. Black Saddle visited him in January 2022.

Who hasn’t dreamed of having their horses inside the house? Basil is a ten year old miniature stallion, yes he’s entire! The spaces next to his stable have been converted into very comfortable accommodation for a family, or group of horse loving friends, of four.  During the day he is turned out with his best friend Oscar, another miniature, and the pair are watched over by Bertie their retired old friend.  This lovely countryside accommodation is on the grounds of fine 17th Century manor and the horses graze on the very fine lawn of the house. The property is quintessentially British and brimming with charm. So much so that Basil is booked out over a year in advance! The owners have recently developed part of the original manor house into a wonderfully appointed apartment that sleeps eight. A very tempting option for a weekend getaway with friends where you can watch Basil and his friends lark outside.
